Inside The Healing Grotto’s salt cave in Bellmore, temperatures hover in the low to mid-70s and spa music plays as you lounge in an extra-wide zero-gravity beach chair. The 16-foot-by-24-foot artificial cave, which is packed with 13,000 pounds of pink Himalayan salt on the floor and walls, also features a 9-foot screen with projected sunsets from around the world. “You feel like you are really on the beach,” says owner Steve Izen. At Simplay, an indoor virtual multisports arena that opened last year in the Hauppauge Industrial Park, simulators virtually transport you to the great PGA golf courses of the world.
